Don't Rock the Boat!

Beam sea in Bass Strait in 35kts - without stabilizers!

One of the most frequent questions I get asked is "Does she roll much?". To which my answer is "Every boat rolls when there are waves, and the bigger the waves the more they roll! Ada Hardy is no different." Most often we then end up in a discussion about stabilizers and I am frequently surprised how many people (including experienced boaters) have little idea about the various types of stabilizers and how they work, so I thought a chapter on the stabilizer systems on Ada Hardy would be of interest to some. Click here to go straight to the new web page or navigate to "Don't Rock the Boat" under the menu heading "About Ada Hardy".

Hi Hugo and Karen

We have been admiring your wonderful boat stationed at the moment in Rushcutters Bay Sydney where we live. We would love to come and look at the boat if possible. I even sketched it recently I so admired the shape! Thank you for giving us something different to observe in this area!

Hi Rae,

Thank you for your kind comments. We have actually just headed off to Tasmania for the wooden boat festival but will be back probably early April. Please feel free to make contact again when you see we are back. Cheers Hugo.
